MOTORCYCLING/SPORTS CAR DRIVING - Graham County is the home of two of the most popular roads in the United States for motorcycling and sports car touring. Deal's Gap, also known as the Dragon and Tail of the Dragon, boasts 318 curves in 11 miles of asphalt. The new Cherohala Skyway is quickly approaching the Dragon in fame. The more experienced overnight hikers will want to venture into the deepest wilderness areas where few if any other people will be seen. Hot spots include Hangover, Slickrock Creek, Huckleberry Knob, Stratton Bald, Hooper Bald, and the Snowbird Wilderness area. Very little of either lake is developed and it will stay that way for the most part as the shorelines are protected from development by the United States Forest Service.
