The Nantahala River is the perfect whitewater experience for beginners, seniors, and children. Enjoy a three hour ride along the 8 miles of scenic beauty in the Nanthala Gorge. The finale is a ride over the three foot high falls.

If you are too timid for the rapids you can always take a picnic and watch the braver ones venture down the river. There are several picnic areas along Highway 19.
