Wolf Laurel is the closest and easiest trailhead to access Stratton Bald, Haoe Bald, and Hangover. It is a little difficult to drive to Wolf Laurel, but we have driven passenger cars there. It is a long haul on steep gravel roads with a few sharp switchbacks. We recommend that Cadillacs and Towncars stay on the pavement!

It is just a short hike from the trailhead up to Stratton Bald. Just short of Stratton is a turn-off to the right that will take you across the ridge to Naked Ground and Haoe Bald. A bit farther out from Haoe is Hangover - the best view in Kilmer. Don't miss this one if you're anywhere near Haoe.

The access road to Wolf Laurel is closed for the winter, usually January to April.
